Physical, Energetic, Mental and Emotional Healing In Rishikesh India.

Updated: Jan 19, 2023

Me and my husband was lucky enough to be able to take a trip to India and the one place we wanted to visit and go back to was Rishikesh. This is where we first met each other over 18 years ago when we both worked at Ananda in the Himalayas, and returning again after 14 years of being away. It was really exciting to be back after so long...

Rishikesh is a city in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, in the Himalayan foothills beside the Ganges River. The river is considered holy, and the city is renowned as a center for studying yoga and meditation. Temples and ashrams (centers for spiritual studies) line the eastern bank around Swarg Ashram, a traffic-free, alcohol-free and vegetarian enclave upstream from Rishikesh town.

Rishikesh is commonly referred to as the 'yoga capital of the world

Ever since the Beatles visited the ashram of the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in the late '60s, in Rishikesh, it has been a magnet for spiritual seekers ever since. Today it styles itself as the ‘Yoga Capital of the World’, and rightly so. The destination is abuzz with visitors, who come here to learn yoga and meditation with masses of ashrams and all kinds of yoga and meditation classes. The action is mostly north of the main town, where the exquisite setting on the fast-flowing Ganges River, surrounded by forested hills, is conducive to meditation and mind expansion.

In the evening, an almost supernatural breeze blows down the valley, setting temple bells ringing as sadhus ('holy' men), pilgrims and tourists prepare for the nightly ganga aarti (river worship ceremony).

Rishikesh is not all spirituality and contorted limbs, it's also a popular white-water rafting centre, backpacker hang-out and Himalayan-trekking gateway.

Rishikesh is like no other place in India and it has to be visited by travellers to India, whether you visit for 3 days or 30!

I loved my time in Rishikesh when I was there last, over 18 years ago when I first met my now, husband Ravi at Ananda in The Himalayas, which is a 5 star destination spa set in the foothills of the Himalayas.

Coming back after 14 years, brought back lots of lovely memories on this trip. We spent 3 lovely weeks there, we met old friends and new people, enjoyed the sunshine, the river, the yoga classes,

visiting temples and ashrams and I had the chance in learning some new therapies for energy healing such as sound healing massage therapy and Vedic Pranic Healing.

Becoming qualified in Pranic Healing and Sound Healing Massage. I am now able to offer these new healing therapies to my clients here in Henley-on-Thames.

One of the most vibrant and positive modes of alternative therapy is Energy Healing (aura and chakra healing). Healing by attaining spiritual methodologies expands the usage of energy through the deployment of sound, frequency, touch and light. The bondage of the body from physical afflictions and limitations are broken through Energy Healing application.

Energy Healing is modernistic and unique in nature.

Introduction to Energy Healing

Energy healing channels positive energy flow through corrective courses for any disturbances. It directly influences ‘human energy field’ or ‘aura’ and enhances self-healing capacity. This method of healing has been directly adopted from the evolution of similar traditional practices.

Energy healing works directly with the energetic level of life

Three basic dimensions of life i.e. physical, mental and emotional have their own unique energy patterns. Energy Healing holistically corrects these deeper energy channels and ensures optimum flow of positive energy.

The Human Energy Field

The above mentioned facets of human existence may be alternately named as ‘subtle bodies’. The design pattern of energy flow in the human physiology i.e. ‘energy anatomy’ exists in multiple layers and exchange of energy takes place amongst these layers. This ‘aura’ is positively influenced through Energy Healing methods.

Energy Healing as part of Energy Medicine

Energy Healing is simply a specialized field of ‘energy medicine’. Skilful usage of sound, frequency, vibration, touch, light, herbs, and crystals are combined as ‘energy medicines’, owing to the inherent ‘vibratory patterns’ in them. Exchange of skilful usage of ‘energy medicine’ takes place between the practitioner (healer) and the recipient (healee) through interaction.

Basic principles of Energy Healing

Some of the basic principles of energy healing are as follows:

  1. Everything has an energy component.

  2. Energy influence thought process.

  3. Perception is affected by inherent energy field.

  4. Changes in human energy field are expressed through the human body.

  5. Uninhibited flowing of human energy facilitates healing.

  6. A person after enhancing his own energy field may direct those positive energies to another person.

  7. Smooth flow of energy ensures symmetry and balance in life.

Pranic Healing

What is it?

Pranic Healing is a system to accelerate the body’s inborn ability to heal itself by balancing, harmonizing and transforming the body’s energy processes. Prana is the Sanskrit word that means life-force. This energy keeps the body alive and maintains good health. The Chinese refer to this energy as Chi, the Japanese call it Ki, as in Reiki. It is a simple, yet powerful and effective system of non-touch energy healing. It is based on the fundamental principle that the body is a self repairing entity that possesses the innate ability to heal itself. Pranic Healing is applied on the bio- electromagnetic field known as the aura, or energy body. It is in the aura, or energy body, that physical ailments first appear as energetic disruptions, before manifesting themselves as problems in the physical body. Pranic Healing can be used to help in the healing of almost any physical and psychological condition by enhancing the body’s capability to heal itself.

Consider Pranic Healing Therapy if you are experiencing: • Stress • Fatigue (Physical / Emotional) • Low Immunity

Pranic Healing Treatments can be carried out remotely irrespective of the distance or physical barriers between the patient and the healer.

It is a highly relaxing healing session.

It takes place in my lovely healing room, with soft music and candles.

A wonderful experience every time.

If you would like to experience Pranic Healing yourself?

Its a 60 minute session and I am offering 15% off your first session with me as an introductory offer until 22nd December 2022. Sessions are usually £50.00 now £42.50

Sound Healing Massage Therapy

Where old meets new...

Sound healing massage therapy has been developed through drawing on ancient eastern practices and modern scientific research into the effects of sound and vibration

The ancient art of sound healing has been around for more than 5,000 years. In many cultures around the world sound has been used for celebration, ceremony, prayer, medicine and healing, including tribal drumming, gong playing, and voice in chanting and singing. Today knowledge and research is being developed and adapted in the West, to suit the needs of a modern lifestyle.

Sound healing is based on the frequency of sound.

The combined sound and vibration can induce a deep sense of meditative relaxation which helps to de-stress mind and body.

A massage on a cellular level. Deep healing to leave you feeling lighter, calmer and nourished to the core.

An hour of blissful tranquility. Let me (Kelly) bathe you in sound for a truly restorative and rejuvenating experience that balances your chakras and renews your soul.

How it works?

Based on the theory that vibration releases trapped energy that’s been stored around the body, this type of massage uses sound waves to produce gentle rhythmic pulsations. These pulsations or vibrations are strategically sent through the body, massaging the cells, working out any stored up tension. Simultaneously, the range of frequencies emitted by the bowls has a calming effect, drawing the brain into the meditative state.

During normal daily activity, our regular brain frequency is that of Beta. The sounds gently draw the brain, first into the Alfa state and then Theta and Delta, where deep relaxation and meditation occur. Whilst in this deep meditative state, the heart rate slows and the body is able to rejuvenate and find peace of mind.

To generate the sound and vibration, the practitioner uses one or more Himalayan bowls. Made from at least seven different metals and varying in size and weight, the bowls produce sound across a range of frequencies and are used to target different parts of the body accordingly.

Following a session, the client can continue to experience the benefits of having been in the meditative state for some time. Calmness, reduced anxiety and the ability to think clearly and remain focussed are just some of the benefits of regular sound treatments.

Sound and Frequency

At its most basic, sound is vibration—invisible, physical waves that move through the air and are interpreted by the brain via the ear. The loudness of sound is measured in decibels (dB), while the frequency, or size of the waves, is measured in a unit called a hertz (Hz); the higher the number of hertzes, the higher-pitched the sound.

The human ear can detect a range of anywhere from 20 to 20,000 Hz, the average adult hearing range being about 2,000-5,000 Hz. It’s finding the right frequencies, sound healing can have a positive effect on the human brain and body.

There are two basic ways that sound can affect us, one’s called psycho-acoustics, and that’s where sound goes into our ears, into our brain and affects our nervous system, our heart rate, our respiration, our brainwaves, [our] blood pressure. The other is called vibro-acoustics, and that is where sound goes into the body, affecting you on a cellular level.

As our bodies are made up of 75 per cent water, and because water is a great conductor of sound vibrations, different sound frequencies influence all the cells in our bodies and help us to rebalance our organs.

If cells in the body are not vibrating at their natural, healthy frequency, sounds that match that frequency can help restore them to proper balance, thereby bringing about physiological change.

A full body healing with sound and vibrations to reduce stress, assist with pain, relaxation, and more. Handmade Himalayan singing bowls are gently placed on the body (over clothes) and played. The client hears the beautiful rhythmic sounds and feels the soothing vibrations.

Great for physical, emotional and energetic relaxation. We all vibrate at our own rhythms. When we hear the sounds of the bowls, our energy entrains with the resonance of the sounds. Modern life and the energy we pick up from the world around us (such as electrical devices) affect our natural rhythms and listening to the pure sound of the bowls balances our mind and body. Singing bowls induce theta brain waves which is perfect for meditation and can facilitate deep relaxation, and healing.

One of the most promising applications of sound healing, suggests recent research, is in the area of stress and anxiety relief. sound healing may help reduce stress by reducing cortisol, the stress hormone, and increasing oxytocin, the body’s feel-good hormone.

If you are on a mission to reduce stress and improve your general wellbeing, then why not try a sound healing massage for yourself?

It’s non-invasive, gentle and calming and raising your vibration can only invite more optimism and confidence into your life.

I also had the chance to refresh my knowledge on my Ayurveda, as I became an Ayurvedic Therapist over 18 years ago when I worked in Ananda in the Himalayas. I am bringing back my Ayurvedic HERBAL POULTICE MASSAGE - Pinda sweda 🙌🏻💆🏼‍😍

-Sore, aching muscles are worked away with this invigorating and deeply releasing treatment. Using heated herbal poultices to help relieve pain, stiffness, tension and improving blood circulation. Completed with a restorative facial massage, tension is dissolved.

Ayurvedic Poultice Massage or Pinda sweda is a deep heat medicinal muscle therapy that uses Poultices (or Potlis) that contains a selection of Ayurvedic herbs, both, fresh and dried. The herbs are wrapped in a muslin cloth and heated. The poultice is dipped in warm medicated oil for wet massages and for dry massages, the poultice is heated against sand or some herbal powder. The steaming process softens the compress and the aroma intensifies as the essential oils in the contents are released. The massage is focused on specific pressure points that help rejuvenating, relaxing and nourishing the affected areas of the body.

Why should you get it?

Ayurvedic Poultice Massage is a simple heat therapy. Like any other heat treatment, it is detoxifying and induces sweat that helps eliminate toxins. The poultice will relieve aches and tensions in the muscle as well as stretch the connective tissues in the body. The heat of the poultice (or potlis) opens the pores and alleviating pain, stiff, sore or pulled muscles and ligaments. The hot compresses are ideal for relieving chronic back aches, arthritis, even skin conditions, migraines and chronic stress or anxiety. The herbs used in the poultice possess medicinal properties that are anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, astringent and antioxidant.

For an 60 minute Pinda Sweda Massage, it is usually £70.00 but with 15% off till 22nd December 2022 its only £59.50
