This Deep Tissue Massage is intended for those seeking a more targeted, isolated massage with deep and direct pressure.
This massage focuses on the deeper tissue structures of the body. This massage is beneficial in releasing chronic muscle tension. The focus is on the deepest layers of muscle tissue, tendons and fascia (the protective layer surrounding muscles, bones and joints). Deep tissue works all of your connective tissue and fascia, as opposed to Swedish massage, which is more superficial.
Whether you’re an athlete with a daily high demand placed on your body, deep tissue massage likely has some benefits to offer you. It can involve moving the body into certain positions — deep tissue massage is usually much slower and firmer, using Trigger point techniques and release therapy.

Deep Tissue Massage is not meant to be painful, but very nurturing. Pain isn't necessarily a good thing, and it's not a sign that the massage will be effective. Your body may tense up in response to pain, making it harder for the therapist to reach the deeper muscles.
It is not a "hard" massage and does not consist entirely of deep work. Deep tissue works on the many layers of tissue to relax, lengthen, and release holding patterns in the most effective way possible. There is a greater emphasis on altering the structure and addressing muscle restrictions, which helps increase the degree of relaxation, alleviate pain, and achieve longer-lasting benefits.
Deep tissue work can create physiological changes in the tissue, which in turn can lead to systemic changes. It can improve posture, lengthen the spine, enhance flexibility and fluid movement, and improve the quality of the soft tissue. It can help with muscle spasms, tight and restricted muscles, and ongoing tension, which require deeper work.

It's highly recommended for people who engage in highly physical activities, such as running, sporting activities and weight lifting.
Using Pure Organic Highest grade quality Aromatherapy Essential Oils to help allow the muscles, body and your mind to relax into the massage and nourish the body and naturally detoxify, rejuvenate and release tension and stiffness.

What to Expect in a Deep Tissue Massage:

Your therapist will ask you some questions regarding your health, wellbeing, and lifestyle to determine the best massage style session for you and your health and wellbeing goals for the session. Please let your therapist know of any health or medical conditions you may have and tell them if you are - or think you might be pregnant or have any allergies.

Everybody is different, and every massage is also different and fully customised to your needs. Each deep tissue massage will be unique to the last one you experienced, depending on your concerns and the severity of the issues and areas being treated.

The therapist will then ask you to lie down under the blanket or sarong provided. Using natural, traditional oils such as jojoba, flaxseed, coconut, or grape seed oil, which are organic and paraben- and sulfate-free, as well as blended pure, therapeutic, organic essential oils chosen for your specific concerns. These are later applied over the body or specific areas to be treated.

My 60-minute sessions all include a relaxing, cleansing foot ritual, which incorporates reflexology and Thai massage points on the feet, as well as foot rocking, which helps loosen and release stiff hips and joints.
And focused and relaxed breathing techniques to help you fully relax the body and the body's nervous system, allowing you to have a beneficial massage. Using the pure and therapeutic essential oil chosen for you.

Then, using a series of relaxing strokes and techniques specific to the body part and what you want to achieve. The massage can begin by warming up the muscles and allowing the circulation to flow. Deeper techniques may be employed, such as using forearms, elbows, soft fists, trigger point therapy, and myofascial release, which can be applied to relieve tension and access deeper muscles. These techniques can help break up adhesions and fascial restrictions that lie deep within the muscles. It's really important in all deep tissue massages to allow your body, muscles, and bones to be completely loose and relaxed, to enable better movement, stretching, and results from your session.

Deep Tissue Massage is not meant to be painful, but very nurturing. Pain isn't necessarily a good thing, and it's not a sign that the massage will be effective. In fact, your body may tense up in response to pain, making it harder for the therapist to reach the deeper muscles.

After the massage, you may feel quite relaxed and possibly even sleepy. You may also experience some soreness or stiffness. This is natural after a deep tissue massage, and it should subside within a day or so. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time to relax and unwind back home, without the need to rush off to another appointment, pick up the kids, go back to work, or go shopping. We highly recommend allowing some time before your massage and a lot of time after your massage to relax and enjoy the many benefits that massage offers to your body and mind. And to savour the feeling of having your muscles gently stretched and smoothed out.

Hot Tips Before Your Deep Tissue Massage:

-
Book your massage on your day off or at the end of the day so that you don't have to rush off to anywhere or do anything, such as picking up kids, shopping, returning to work, or heading out to drink or party in the evening.
-
It's a great idea to have a warm shower before your massage as it warms and relaxes your muscles, preparing them for an even deeper and more relaxing experience.
-
Drink plenty of fresh water days running up to your massage, for your body to be fully hydrated and allowing your muscles to be relaxed and to get the most beneficial results from your massage
-
Avoid heavy meals at least 2-3 hours before your massage, as this can make you feel bloated and sluggish, rather than relaxed, and may reduce the massage benefits. Eat a very light meal 2 hours before your massage, and after your massage, eat a light meal, not a heavy meal.
-
Dress the part by wearing loose, comfortable trousers, a top, and shoes that allow you to feel comfortable putting them back on after your massage, so that the comfortable feeling lasts a little bit longer.
-
Do all exercise and strenuous activities before your massage, not after.
-
Avoid stress and stressful situations as much as possible before and after your massage. If you know it stresses you out to talk to your mother on the phone, don't talk to them right before or after your massage.
