What is Meditation?

Meditation is a tool to actualise your potential, achieve greater personal harmony and peace and to attain a higher level of awareness. It's easy and spiritually powerful. When you are attuned to your true nature, your life flows more spontaneously, more freely, more successfully. To use this tool to help you to heal and release pain and to bring about fulfilment into your life.

“In meditation, healing can happen. When the mind is calm, alert and totally contented, then it is like a laser beam – it is very powerful and healing can happen.”
- Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

Meditation is a practice where you move your focus onto something else, limit the chatter in your mind and what’s around you and calm your mind in the process. And anyone can do it. You just need to set yourself some time alone either for 10 minutes or 30mins each day and sticking to it everyday at a time that suits you each day as long as it’s at a peaceful place, that is warm and comfortable and free from noise and distractions.

What’s it good for:

  • Everything, your mind, body, soul, health, skin and well being

  • Reduces stress

  • It’s anti ageing

  • Makes you happier

  • Boosts your immune system

  • Lowers your blood pressure

  • Reduces Cholesterol levels

  • Improves overall health

  • Increases brain function

  • Increases memory

  • Helps you to live longer and age better

  • Helps to reverse heart disease

  • Makes you more Empathic

  • Speeds healing of Psoriasis

  • Mood enhancer – Ranking with Chocolate

  • Relieves pain

  • and soo much more...

How to get prepared before meditation:

  1. Get comfortable: Avoid slumping (like on a cozy couch) or lying down somewhere that you're used to falling asleep in. These are not positions conducive to staying alert when meditating. When beginning, you can sit on the floor or on a chair, sit on your heels, or sit cross-legged in the half lotus or full lotus positions (if that's comfortable for you––don't force it).

2. Do it before bed, this will help your brain to start shutting down and will cause you to feel

more relaxed.

3. Wait two hours after a full meal or an hour after a snack or a caffeine drink before

meditating, as the digestive system can be very distracting.

4. Wear something comfortable. Remove your shoes and loosen any tight clothing so you are

comfortable.

5. Disconnect your phone and any electrical items that are near to you.

6. Make the area pleasant. A scented candle, a bouquet of flowers, a incense or something

else pleasing to you can be great little touches to enhance your first meditation.

You need to make sure you have some peace and quiet around you when you first begin

learning to meditate. This is critical to your success.

Dim the lights. Or, turn them off if you are going to use candles. You don't want to come out of your meditation session into bright light.

7. Keep your spine as straight as possible if you are sitting while being as comfortable as

possible. Resting your hands either on your lap palms facing up.

8. Accept that focus will be hard for the beginner. While it's important to try and keep

focused while meditating, you may find it hard as a beginner. Don't berate yourself––all

beginners experience the inner chatter, of one's thoughts trying to regain supremacy and

break the peace. If thoughts enter your mind, just let them float out of your mind again and

return to focusing on your breath. You will need to do this time and time again––that is fine,

it's normal. In fact, some would say that this continual return to the present moment the

"practice" of meditation.

9. Don't expect too much. Many people get disheartened and frustrated with meditation

because they expect immediate results. Meditation takes time to grow into and to fully

appreciate. It may take days if you're on a retreat with nothing more to do than meditate, or

it can take weeks or months if you're only dedicating a slot here and there for meditation

each week. Be persistent, as there will come a moment when your awareness will suddenly

shift and you'll want more of this experience!

10. Practice and persevere. You will gain the benefits of meditation when you least expect it

because meditation cannot be forced or fitted into a schedule––your awakening and

increased awareness will come when the time is right. However, you can increase your

chances of being successful by finding others to meditate with. It might be an individual or a

group, but it's best to find someone more experienced at meditation than you, to offer

guidance and inspiration.

11. Meditate daily. A short daily meditation is more productive than a longer, less frequent

meditation period. 10 minutes a day is better than 70 minutes once a week, because it helps

you establish the habit. Aim for a minimum of a continuous 20 minutes every day to start

seeing results. If you miss a day, just start again the next day.

In time, the mindfulness that you experience from meditation should spill over into the rest

of your life, causing you to think carefully about your diet, your activity levels, and the things

you submit your mind to through reading, viewing and listening.

Spiritually Healing Meditations

Let's start with a basic Mediation if you are new to Meditation...

This technique will be the first step in any meditation you will use. Once you have become thoroughly familiar with this technique, you will be able to achieve a state of relaxation in seconds.

Once you are in a comfortable position, begin by closing your eyes and taking some deep slow breathes, easily and deeply. Inhale, and hold your breathe for a moment or two, and then exhale with a sigh for as long as you can exhale for.

Repeat this breathing pattern again, using slow, even rhythm.

Then ask your Higher Power for spiritual protection, using a prayer of your own choosing.

And envision a bright, white light above your head. This is the universal light of life energy, let it pours over your head and run through your entire body. know that this white light is removing all stress and tension. Watch it move slowly through you. Constantly see the light and tell yourself that the tension is leaving you through the soles of your feet, and is moving away from you into the ground where mother nature uses it to rejuvenate the earth itself.

When the body feels light, stay in this state until you sense it is time to return.

When you are ready, open your eyes. Sit up or stand up slowly with knees bent and move your body slowly. End the meditation by saying a prayer of your own choosing, thanking the energy and the healing. Then congratulate yourself on a meditation well done.

Meditation For Self-Cleansing The Chakras

Firstly, if you are new to Chakras and what they are? Please check out here more information on what Chakras are first before starting this Chakra Meditation.

This cleansing and Clearing Meditation is perfect if you are unable to find a healer to work on cleansing your chakras, the following meditation will help to clean any torn or dirty chakras and that need attention and releasing any blockages.

  • Start by completing the basic meditation above, and say your personal prayer for protection and healing.

  • Then visualise healing white light above your head. breathe deeply and watch as it descends to the top of your head and enters your Crown Chakra to open it wide.

  • Breathe deeply. Ask yourself if this chakra is blocked or broken in some way. Wait for an image to be given to you which will show you clearly its state of being - for example, a circle without clearly defined edges.

  • In your mind, repair to by defining how you think it should be. Spend time forming it until you can clearly visualise it as perfect. Breathe slowly and deeply again and sense the healing work done.

  • Now, feel the white light flowing down into the Third Eye Chakra. Breathe deeply and give yourself permission to see how it looks. Wait for a picture of an eye looking at you. Note its appearance. If it is shut, open it and look deeply into it for any flaws. Whatever you see that is flawed or damaged, visualise it as you wish to see it. Repair it where necessary until it is clearly defined. Breathe in deeply again and acknowledge this healing has been done.

  • Attune yourself now to the Throat Chakra. Visualise the white light moving into it. Once again, wait for the pictures that will show it's condition. If you are dissatisfied with any part of it, rebuild it until you have it to your liking. Breathe in slowly and deeply. Acknowledging that the healing work for this Chakra is finished.

  • Then watch the white light descend and enter into your Heart Chakra. Observe the picture that arises and repair it where necessary. Breathe deeply and observe the white light at it cleanses this chakra and uplifts you emotionally.

  • Breathe deeply again and follow the white light into your Solar Plexus Chakra. Observe the picture that arises. If it is damaged or torn, repair it. Watch the white light repair it as your breathe in and out deeply and strengthens this chakra.

  • Breathe deeply. When ready, watch as the white light move down into the Sacral Chakra, notice how this chakra looks and feel and begin to rebuild it where necessary. Breathe deeply and watch as the white light cleanses this chakra and heals it.

  • When ready take another deep breathe in as you watch the white healing light move down and into your Root Chakra. Wait for the visual picture to appear and begin to repair it where necessary. Breathe in deeply again and watch the white light cleanse this chakra.

  • Now that you have repaired all of the chakras visually in the physical sense, it is time to return to each one and relate them individually to the other four bodies. Breathe deeply and allow yourself to drift into a higher state of awareness. By looking more deeply into each chakra.

  • First we need to scan the Crown Chakra for any blockages. If you find one, surround it with pure golden white light. Breathe deeply and know that you are attuning your Root Chakra to the Crown Chakra to create harmony and balance.

  • Once the Crown Chakra is clear, do the same with the other five Major Chakras, allowing each one to be tuned to the Root Chakra until all the blocks have disappeared. Breathe deeply through this part of the meditation.

  • Now that you have healed all the chakras to the best of your ability, visualise yourself closing them down to small dots, while pulling in the muscles over each one.

  • Gently bring yourself back to full waking consciousness.

  • Congratulate yourself on a job well done and thank the Creator and your spirit guides for assisting you to work with your Higher Self.

Remember that any blocks that show up that refuse to be healed by the healing light can be worked on in meditation at a later date or I would recommend some Sound Healing sessions as this can help to raise your energies frequency and release what blocks are still there without you having to mentally release them. I would highly recommend this if you are struggling to release them yourself, especially if it is in the spirit body. Contact me to book a sound healing session here.

Meditation To Release Fears From Your Previous Past Lives

Illness or issues in your life can occur as a result of fears acquired from a previous life that have been encoded within the spirit body. These fears appear to be a very real part of the conscious mind and are quiet naturally incorporated into the life now being lived.

In these cases, the individual needs to face the fear by regressing to the past life. When this fear is conquered, valuable knowledge and skills will be released into the conscious mind for use in this life. It is, therefore necessary to be aware of this factor and to do this meditation only when ready to face those fears that cannot be justified from this lifetime alone.

Lets begin.

  • Lie in a comfortable position with your head well supported , your hands at your side and your feet outstretched. Breathe deeply and visualise yourself bathing in warm sunlight. Continue to breathe deeply in and out, allowing your stress to be washed away by the light.

  • Say your own prayer for protection and ask your spirit guides to draw you close to them.

  • Breathe slowly and deeply now and ask your spirit guides to lead you back into the life or lives that are affecting you now.

  • Visualise all your major and minor chakras one at a time and watch them open. Continue to breathe deeply and slowly. Watch any stress running down your body as thick black oil and see it leave through your feet. Your body is now relaxed and your conscious mind is ready to begin your journey back in time.

  • Take several deep breathes and attune to your spirit body. Let yourself feel this body as it glows and pulsates with life.

  • Begin to search this body for any signs of stress. Many areas may feel tense. Observe this tension and allow yourself to focus on the part that feels acutely stressed.

  • Concentrate on it and acknowledge how bad it feels. Breathe slowly and deeply. With previous lives in mind, allow your mind to become one with this area of your body. Watch this part of your body as it manifests aches, pains, soreness, tingling and any other ill feeling. Continue to breathe in deeply and exhale fully.

  • Accept this discomfort and ask yourself what originally caused this feeling. To breathe deeply and wait for your mind to recall those pictures.

  • Observe the answer as though watching a movie. Accept that this was done to you and watch your feelings (pain/aches/tingles) climax and then subside as you let go of your fears acquired in that life. ( Example - A pain in the stomach gives rise to a picture of a sword stabbing you there. A fear of death arises. Accept this death as instant and painless.)

  • Watch this feeling flow down your body as golden oil that passes away from you through your feet. Breathe deeply and relax.

  • Once again, begin to observe your spirit body and watch for new areas of tension. Continue to breathe deeply.

  • Focus in on an area that seems most uncomfortable and once again allow your mind to recall pictures that will stimulate any further fears you need to release. Continue to breathe deeply and when the feeling come up again once more, and relax.

  • You may continue to work on yourself until you have had enough.

  • Then visualise the light entering your body through the Crown Chakra. Breathe deeply and allow yourself to feel every part that you have worked on rejuvenating within yourself.

  • Now, allow yourself to create a new consciousness where fear has no place. Affirm to yourself that you are strong and courageous. Breathe slowly and deeply several times and sense this new awareness being stimulated within your spirit body.

  • Know that this new discovery will be birthed into the conscious mind for you to use in your everyday activities. Continue to breathe deeply as you attune to your physical body again.

  • Visualise each Major and Minor Chakra closing. Breathe normally and allow yourself to turn on to your side.

  • Keep your eyes closed and allow your conscious mind to recall all the past-life pictures you have seen as well as all the feelings that were released. When you are ready, sit up and write them down for further reference.

Remember that every part of the body stores a memory, so miss nothing. Many of these memories will relate to the same life. It will take you several months to cover the entire body, so be patient with the process and yourself.
